My Skin Care Routine and the Products I use

It has been requested a few times that I share what I use on my face. This includes skin care and make-up. This will be just that! A little look into my make-up bag. Hope you all enjoy.

To start out I want to share what kind of skin I have. Growing up I used to have cystic acne. Due to having so much active acne growing up I now have acne scars, and redness. Over the years I have used many products to help clear my acne, and have mixed results. Now that I am in my twenty's and am taking the "pill" I no longer have active acne. I do however do have the usual "that time of the month" break out, like most women.

Here are some photos to show you all what my skin looked like growing up.

I have recently changed the products I am using and have found the perfect balance for my skin. I no longer have acne, oiliness, or as much redness.

Let me share what I am using for skin care.

This is my nightly routine, in order.

Kirkland - Daily Facial Cleansing Wipes

This takes off all of my make-up, even waterproof eye make-up

Philosophy - Purity Made Simple Face Wash

I use this to wash my face to get any left over make-up or dirt

Lush - Tea Tree Water Popular Toner

I use this to set a base for my lotion

Retin - A - Gel

This is a gel that is prescribed from my doctor for me to use to help prevent breakouts. I use this once or twice a week, depending on how my skin looks

Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - Original Formula - All Skin Types

I use this because it improves the texture of my skin over night

Laura Mercier - Firming Eye Cream

I use this to help prevent wrinkles

This is my Morning skin care routine in order

Philosophy - Purity Made Simple Face Wash

I use this to wash my face of all impurities

Clairisonic Mia

I use this to get a deep clean - I use the Philosophy Purity Face Wash with it

Laura Mercier - Gentle Exfoliater

I use this on days that I don't use my Clairisonic to exfoliate

Lush - Tea Tree Water Popular Toner

I use this to set a base for my lotion

Philosophy - On a Clear Day Oil Free Mossturizer

It took me a long time to find the right moisturizer that gave me a good balence. This is the one I decided on. I like that it doesnt make me oily, and I feel moisturized at the same time

Philosophy - Hope in a Tube - Eye and Lip Moisturizer

I use this as my eye cream during the day to help prevent wrinkles

Philospphy - The Supernatural - Primer

I use this as a foundation primer. I find that when I use a primer my make-up will last 8+ hours and look like I just put it on

Laura Mercier - Oil Free Foundation Primer

I use this interchangeably with the Philosophy primer

After applying a foundation primer I then put on my make-up for the day

I will do a second post on the make-up I use and what brushes I use

These next items are items that I use in the morning on days I feel like I need them. Usually two or three times a week

Philosophy - The Microdelivery Purifying Peel

I use this as a mask, when I want my skin to look extra supple

Philospohy - The Great Mystery

I use this as a mask to help with redness

Pawpaw Ointment - Australia

I use this ointment on my lips for soft supple lips

Urban Decay - All Nighter Setting Spray

I use this if I want my make-up to look flawless for 12+ hours

Here are a few pictures of what my skin looks like today

(I love my pointy elf ears)

I want to put it out there that I clearly do not have perfect skin by any means. I have just come to a place that I feel comfortable with the skin that I have. I have found products that I love and feel help keep my skin looking clear. I am not saying that these products are a miricle cure by any means. As you can see I still have redness, acne scars, and a few active acne places. But the products that I use help me feel more beautiful

I hope you all enjoyed this and I will post the make-up products that I use soon

  1. I really like the idea of starting with the wipes. I never thought about doing that before cleaning! Good tip!
